Being happy where you are -- it's a great thing (they say)!

So often, I catch myself wondering what it would be like if I would have stayed in my hometown or if I wouldn't have transferred half way through my undergraduate schooling or if I would have picked a career that took me to the opposite side of the country. I wonder what it could have looked like for my life if I would have made different choices . These questions usually creep into my brain when I'm feeling uncertain about my current situation or when I am worried that what I am doing isn't the best investment of my time and my energy. Honestly, it's ceaseless worrying that only distracts me from the good parts of my life and hinders me from really being content and happy where I'm at. These empty thoughts add zero value to my thought process though. They often are fueled by an empty longing for an ideal "greener grass" situation or they are based on doubts and anxieties which thwart all growth.
